Monument of Col. John Stotsenburg

Located on the West side of the Parade Grounds close to the CDC buildings, this monument details and honors Col. John M. Stotsenberg who died April 23, 1899 in a battle in the Philippine province of Bulacan.

Stood as Main Gate post in Dau from 1902 to 1942. The Japanese dug them up and used as landfill. They were found buried intact in 1965, then relocated to the site of the former American Legion post Clubhouse, and finally placed at the Parade Ground in 1984 by the 13th Air Force Command. Registered under Historic Structures Markers by the National Historical Commission of the Philippines Markers in 2011.
